CENTIMETRE STRETCHES OUT ON DEBUT
Extreme Choice colt CENTIMETRE got his career off to the best possible start with a win on debut at Goulburn over 1200 on 11 September 2026. Sent out favourite off the back of two trails that were promising CENTIMETRE jumped away sharply and was asked to push forward from the barriers. He mustered quickly and crossed most of the field to settle outside the leader. Rider Dylan Gibbons was patient with the colt and got him to settle and once he did he put in a thoroughly professional display. Gibbons commented “I didn’t want to sit there to pretty and have to ask him to ping off the mark so I had to press the button 50 to 100m earlier than I would have liked. It is a good sign that he has been able to put them to the sword, get there on his own and stick it out late. He has had a wonderful first day at the races.”
CENTIMETRE justified market support having started favourite. Recording 1:10.24 for 1200m on a track rated a Good 4 this was a debut win of plenty of promise.
CENTIMETRE is out of the Hinchinbrook mare WARMTH and was purchased by Rob Roulsoton and Mark Player of PR Thoroughbreds for $175,000 from the Newgate draft at the 2025 Australia Easter Yearling Sale. Patiently handled by John O’Shea and Tom Charlton he has been given plenty of time to strengthen up and he looks to have a bright future.
This was the second debut 3yo winner for the ownership group this week following AEMOND’s emphatic win at Geelong on Sunday 6 September. The owners are Mr R L Roulston, Mr R Smith, Werrett Bloodstock Pty Ltd, Madden Bloodstock, Mr G T Ryan, Pendant Equine, Ms C Y Li, Mr F Pollio, Glenlogan Park, Mr B Murray, Mr T C Eddy, Mr P T Heinz and Mr M J Player.
