The group of five colts purchased for the 2022 PR Colts Fund have all been named and are progressing through the journey to appearing on the track.
1. RUN HARRY RUN (Written Tycoon x Maybe Markle) in training with Mike Moroney. Mike reports that this colt continues to thrive in the stables. He is a very sensible colt with a great attitude. He is likely to have an education jump out towards the middle of October. On type he looks more like a 3yo type but his willingness to please may see him race early than anticipated.
2. GRAND LARCENY (Zoustar x Sin Sin Sin) in training with Team Hawkes. Has had a preparation at both the Melbourne and Sydney stables and impressed at both locations. He is going through a growth spurt so is having a short spell but will head back into the stables later this month.
3. CAPITALISATION (Capitalist x Terrifying) in training with Ben and JD Hayes. Due back into the stables over the next couple of weeks this colt had a very good first preparation including a jump out at Lindsay Park Euroa. A sensible colt who enjoys his work we look forward to getting him into his second preparation.
4. CAPE BYRON (Capitalist x Wind On Tide) in training with Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. The most forward of our colts Cape Byron impressed when third at a jump out at Cranbourne on 9 October. A very athletic and sensible colt he could be racing over the Spring Carnival if he continues to please the team. A race like the Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley makes a lot of appeal.

5. YORKSHIRE (Snitzel x Chantline) in training with John O’Shea. Our sole colt purchased at the Easter Yearling Sale we have given this colt plenty of time to mature. He had a short preparation in town before heading for a nice spell to give him a chance to fill his frame. He has done very well during his spell and is back at the pre-trainers and will shortly join John’s team in Sydney.
Rob and Mark are delighted with the development of these five exciting colts to date.
